Job Description: UPMC Williamsport is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Technologist/Advanced Diagnostic Technologist! This role will work daylight hours to include rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities. A two-year work commitment is required. \no Diagnostic Tech: $10k for 0-1 year experience; $15k for 1+ year experience\n\n\nUPMC's new Monthly Loan Repayment program, exclusively for December 2023 and later graduates, offers $9,000 in loan repayment over three years.\nApplicants will be considered at all levels of the career ladder. \n**Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects the level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer.** \n The Diagnostic Technologist/Advanced Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs various technical procedures using independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.Responsibilities:\n\nIdentifies all patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Document patient history in electronic record as required.\nAdminister PO and rectal contrast per physician orders/department policy\nEnsure all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.\nPerform diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures without requiring constant supervision.\nUtilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol.\nPerforms various technical procedures that require independent judgment to adjust protocols and shows initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes.\nDemonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.\n\nGraduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\nARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. \nMust obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date.\nCPR or BLS Required\n\nCPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire\n\n\nARRT Certificate\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal\nAct 33 with renewal\nAct 34 with renewal\nAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewal\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
