Job Description :

We are searching for an analytically minded auto mechanic to help our repair shop's customers resolve issues with their vehicles' performance, structure, appearance, and functionality. Our ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers about their vehicles' performance and maintenance history. You'll be tasked with inspecting automobiles' mechanical components, systems, and parts to determine their necessary fixes. You'll also maintain repair shop equipment and prepare cost estimates. Responsibilities: • Perform system inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine necessary repair work • Preparing estimates, timelines, and other necessary documents for auto repairs • Identify and address mechanical problems and malfunction codes found in the vehicle's electrical system, mechanical systems, and electronic systems • Engaging in learning opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skills • Encourage and facilitate preventive maintenance work such as oil changes, air conditioning service, flushing, brake replacement, tire rotation, and more Performing PMs and diagnostic repairs on mixed company fleet vehicles. Including light-duty trucks heavy-duty trucks and diesel as well. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude to work on all equipment and vehicles. Must be experienced. • Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately • Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain, and upgrade • Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks) • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition Qualifications: • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are necessary • Required state-issued driver's license • Experience and manual dexterity using hand tools and other equipment is needed • Preferred education is an associate's degree from a technical school or relevant automotive program and/or ASE certification • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent Skills • Proven experience as a truck mechanic • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift) • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc • A high school diploma is preferred Compensation: $25 - $35 hourly
