Diesel Service Technician - Central Power Systems & Services : Job Details

Reports to the Service Foreman and responsible for the In-Shop floor technical assistance for mechanics and repairs and service/maintenance as directed by the Service Foreman. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Functions Perform service and maintenance on all makes and models of heavy-duty trucks. Use of OEM diagnostic software to perform repairs in line with dealer and manufacturer specifications. Perform heavy-duty engine swings, transmission replacements, air brake services and chassis repairs. In depth repair of engine and transmission related components (Training provided!) In-frame overhaul of heavy-duty Detroit engines to include gear train inspection, cylinder head replacement, piston and connecting rod replacement and main bearing replacement to factory specifications. Rebuilding of Allison transmissions in dedicated overhaul area. Operation of state of the art engine, transmission and chassis dynos to aid in diagnostics and ensure correct operation following repairs.
