Diesel Truck Service Manager - LHH : Job Details

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Diesel Truck Service Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Port Wentworth, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience as a medium and heavy-duty diesel truck mechanic with a proven supervisory background. This role involves overseeing daily shop operations, supervising personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and company guidelines, and maintaining productive relationships with vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and supervise daily activities of all assigned personnel.
• Provide appropriate supervision to employees, ensuring duties are performed in a timely manner.
• Hire, train, and evaluate shop personnel.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors.
• Follow up on additional work required for units that have undergone outside repairs.
• Comply with all Company, DOT, and OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with branch management to increase sales and expand market presence.
• Assist with complex mechanical duties as necessary.
• Plan and prepare work schedules, assigning associates to specific tasks.
• Provide training on job expectations, company policies, and safety protocols.
• Perform duties of each position if necessary and assist in mechanical work when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
• Work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with medium and heavy-duty diesel truck mechanics.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Flexible with shifts and able to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Strong customer focus and effective leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of computer diagnostics and shop maintenance software.
• High school diploma or higher.
• CDL license preferred.
• Brake and DOT certification is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends.
