Responsibilities:
- The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals
- Provide food service to the residents in a positive and friendly manner
- Services may include set-up and clean-up of the dining room, food preparation, serving food, and dishwashing
- Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with older adults and those with physical, behavioral, or mental health challenges
- Prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently
- Possess skills to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and other customers
- Possess the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and documentation
- Be punctual with a good attendance record
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course
- Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions, and complete tasks
- Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods
- General knowledge and understanding of nutrition
- Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards
- Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required
- Written and oral communication skills
