Job Overview:We are looking for a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our team at Aspire Senior Living of Moberly, a respected long-term care facility committed to delivering exceptional, resident-centered care. The Dietary Cook isresponsible for preparing nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and healthcare requirements. This role plays an essential part in ensuring our residents enjoy appetizing, well-balanced meals daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines for the evening shift.
- Ensure that meals are served at the appropriate times, at the right temperature, and with attention to quality and presentation.
- Adhere to specific dietary needs of residents, including low-sodium, diabetic, and other dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all sanitation and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory control and reporting of supplies and ingredients.
- Work collaboratively with dietary aides and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Respond to any dietary or food-service inquiries from residents, ensuring a respectful and supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience as a cook in healthcare, long-term care, or similar setting preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of dietary needs for residents in long-term care, including knowledge of therapeutic diets.
- Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Certification: Food handler's certification is required; additional certification in dietary services is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
