Dietitian specializes in nutrition and diet planning to promote health, manage diseases, and improve overall well-being. They assess patients' dietary needs, develop customized meal plans, and provide guidance on healthy eating habits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' nutritional needs based on health conditions, lifestyle, and dietary restrictions.
- Develop and implement personalized meal plans to promote health and manage diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
- Provide counseling on nutrition-related issues, weight management, and overall wellness.
- Educate individuals, families, and communities on healthy eating habits and proper nutrition.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to diet plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and therapists to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct research and stay updated on the latest nutrition science and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and nutritional standards.
- Work in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, sports facilities, and corporate wellness programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelors (Req).
- Completion of an ACEND accredited program in dietetics (Req)
- registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD credential),
- New York State certification as a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) (Req).
- Bilingual Spanish (Pref)
