Job Summary: The Outpatient Dietitian preforms a variety of specialized duties related to nutrition counseling of patients/families for Medical Nutrition Therapy and or Diabetes Self-Management Education. Outpatient Dietitian provides a comprehensive assessment of the patients nutrition status through anthropometrics, diet history, labs, past medical history, emotional/social issues etc. to analyze and provide appropriate nutritional therapy. Outpatient develops realistic, measurable goals to manage the patients nutrition/diabetes plan. Documents interactions with patient in patient education record according to the American Association of Diabetes Educators and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recognition standards. Outpatient Dietitian will understand billing practices, bill for appropriate services-based Level of Service, duration of counseling conducted. Outpatient Dietitian will participate in monthly staff meetings to review and revise department quality initiatives.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare as a Registered Dietitian preferably with counseling experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. State Licensure: Certified Dietitian-Nutritionists in New York State on hire or within six (6) months of hire required.Preferred Qualifications:Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)Masters Degree with preferred area of Nutrition or related field.Board Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician or other certifications in Pediatrics or Adult Nutrition: Board Certification as a Specialty in Pediatric Nutrition, Weight Management and Obesity, Oncology Nutrition or Renal Nutrition.Work Days:2 days of 8 hours and 1 day of 4 hours between 8 am to 4:30 pm (Clinic closed on weekends and holidays)Message to Applicants:Our benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, eligibility for employer 401k funding after 1 year (3% quarterly/5% annual on vesting schedule), tuition reimbursement, compensation for advanced certification and continuing education support and generous paid time off, including vacation and personal time, paid sick leave, holidays and floating holidays.L2: $58,459 - $84,050Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only.
