Maimonides Medical Center is currently seeking a Per Diem Dietitian to screen and assess patients for nutritional status. Plan, direct, evaluate, and provide nutritional care to patients. Specifically, you will:

• Screen patients to identify level of nutritional risks.
• Interview patients as part of screening to obtain information regarding food habits, preferences and any weight loss or swallowing problems.
• Develop goals for nutrition intervention and recommends diet prescription or feeding modality to physicians as appropriate.
• Document nutritional assessment and plan of care in patient medical record.

We require:

• Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field.
• Registration must be current with Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• 1 year in acute care/hospital setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, food nutrition values and regional ethnic and religious f38ood preferences.
• Experience with both adult and pediatric patients providing nutrition support recommendations (enteral/parenteral) and diagnosing malnutrition using ASPEN guidelines a plus.
• Good interpersonal and English verbal/written communication skills.
