Job Description :

Saatva, the leading brand in the direct-to-consumer sleep industry, seeks an experienced Digital Compliance Coordinator to ensure Saatva digital compliance with a focus on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related federal, state, and local disability rights. You will lead efforts cross-departmentally to develop, implement, maintain and promote website compliance and accessibility initiatives. This position is remote in Austin, Texas.

What you will do

  • Stay current with digital compliance laws including ADA state and federal accessibility laws, regulations, standards, best practices, and guidelines as they relate to the strategic, programmatic, and operational initiatives at Saatva.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in technology, legal, marketing, and customer service to define and implement web and digital accessibility best practices.
  • Develop and maintain web accessibility training materials, best practices, policies, procedures, and reference guides for meeting website and electronic document ADA accessibility compliance.
  • Coordinate with website editors to develop and prioritize remediation plans for identified accessibility issues and help with ensuring remediation on all websites.
  • Third-Party Content: Seek commitments from third-party vendors to provide accessible content.
  • Create tickets and manage a backlog of accessibility improvements.
  • Train website editors on automated web accessibility tool(s).
  • Collaborate with legal on responses to legal claims regarding accessibility.
  • Perform accessibility reviews and provide website accessibility compliance reports and remediation plans to the organization.
  • Provide web accessibility statistics and/or reports to the heads of Legal and Technology regarding company-wide ADA website accessibility compliance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

What you will need

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles as applied to coordinating, evaluating and reporting on accessibility projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, standards, and other compliance requirements for retail including California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (at least WCAG 2.1).
  • Understanding of CSS and HTML5.
  • Experienced in generating reports and communicating results and insights within the organization.
  • Working knowledge in the use of assistive technology and understanding of how individuals with disabilities interface with accessible digital content.
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility evaluation tools and processes.
  • Experience in providing one-to-one and group consultation, training, and presentations on digital accessibility.
  • Experience using web content management systems.
  • Certified Accessibility Expert (CAE), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), or completion of the ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP) a plus.
