Compensation:
  • Hourly Pay Range: $19.00 to $22.00

Visit the Employee Benefits page for more information Position Summary & Responsibilities:Digital Print Finishing Technician The Office of Printing, Central Mail & Surplus Property is the State's resource for printing and mailing services for State of Kansas agencies. The Printing Plant has a business need to fill a Digital Print Finishing Technician position to work on the second shift. The automation and move to the new technology platform has significantly changed the work within the Printing Plant and it has been difficult to find applicants with the technical aptitude to work on the new equipment. The requirements to operate the digital print equipment involves a new skill set, a more technical skill set and less mechanical. The employees have had to increase their technical proficiency, improve their computer operation skills and perform research to resolve problems. The work has shifted from mechanical to technical and computer- proficient, requiring a different skill set. The duties and responsibilities of the Digital Print Finishing Technician position include:
  • Set up and operate state of art high-speed digital color ink jet press and high- speed digital toner black and color) devices. Setting correct job files, paper and finishing.
  • Retrieve files from all sources and set up depending on equipment chosen and required finishing needs.
  • Incumbent needs to be familiar with various data software - Power Press, Adobe, Pitstop, InDesign, etc.
  • Sets up and operates finishing equipment; in-line Bourg Booklet Maker, Duplo slitter/creaser and state of the art Hunkeler roll to cut sheet line that cuts, stacks, folds.
  • Must pass a KBI background check for Security Level 1. Work with HIPPA, IRS, and PII data.
