Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team in digital pathology? MSK is seeking a Digital Scanning Technician III to play a vital role in preparing and processing pathology glass slides for digital pathology.

Role Overview:

The Digital Scanning Technician III is responsible for preparing pathology glass slides for digital scanning, ensuring precise data entry into the laboratory information system (LIS), maintaining quality control for optimal image accuracy, and assisting with the documentation of quality assurance findings.

  • Prepare pathology glass slides for digital scanning, ensuring accurate data entry into the laboratory information system (LIS).
  • Review digital scans for missing tissue, focus, composition, and barcode accuracy.
  • Perform quality control activities to verify data accuracy, maintain high-quality digital images, and ensure patient safety.
  • Examine slide labels for accuracy, ensuring patient identifiers match LIS records before scanning.
  • Assess slides for overhanging labels, tape, or excess mounting medium that may interfere with the scanning process.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to assess and resolve quality control issues, documenting findings in QA logs and daily workload reports.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and case tracking as assigned by the Assistant Manager.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Digital Pathology Certificate required.
  • Data entry experience (preferably in a laboratory environment).
  • Experience in Slide Library, Lab Accessioning, Lab Assistant, or administrative roles in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
