Dining Room Service Captain (IN, Columbus) (Cummins)

The Dining Room Service Captain is responsible for overseeing the execution of food and beverage services in Hospitality managed spaces. This position will be the face of Global Integrated Services - Hospitality to the customer and must provide professional, discrete service with exceptional attention to detail. The Dining Room Service Captain is responsible for assisting with each service while taking lead of the wait staff in the day-to-day functions of the department. They maintain a neat appearance, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and easily build rapport with customers. The Dining Room Service Captain works directly with the Sub-Department Team Leader to ensure processes and policies support the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

* Train new Dining Room Service (DRS) staff?regarding standards, policies & procedures.

* Assign staff for opening, service set up, closing tasks and manage results.

* Oversee all table aesthetics.

* Lead wait staff through each service execution and hold them accountable to department standards, policies, and procedures.

* Have a working knowledge of alcohol, wine and food pairing, popular cocktails, and beer types.

* Assist in Interviewing and hiring for DRS staff positions.

* Assist in organizing and executing DRS pre-service meetings.

* Delegate tasks when necessary.

* Sustain a working knowledge of all upcoming services.

* Meet with chefs to discuss menu publishing.

* Maintain understanding of guest needs for each service (dietary restrictions, menu translation if needed).

Additional Notes:

While most shifts are Monday through Friday, employees may be scheduled to work overtime and weekends for special program events a few times per year. This position qualifies for paid specialty training, including formal sommelier training. The responsibilities outlined above capture 70% of the role. An additional 30% may be delegated by the Hospitality Supervisor or others when applicable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week with minimal overtime.
