Foxdale Village is a non-profit, life plan community located in State College, PA. Foxdale Village was founded on the values of treating all with dignity and respect. We are a vibrant, continuing care retirement community. Our dining services venues provide services to residents residing in our independent living cottages and apartments, as well as those residing in personal care and skilled care health services. We are seeking full-time, 40 hours per week, Dining Services Hospitality Lead to join our dedicated and caring team. This position requires flexibility to work every other weekend and participate in a holiday work rotation.

Hospitality Lead job responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates schedules of the catering staff to make sure all functions are set up, delivered, served and cleared in a timely fashion, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Dining Services (ADDS) and Front of the House Manager (FOHM)
  • Arranges tables and decorations. Set buffet tables with food, beverage and service items according to pre-established standards.
  • Delivers food and beverage to catered functions.
  • Promoting a high level of customer service satisfaction. Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner. Relays relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors.
  • Returns tables to their proper position, returns left over food and equipment to the kitchen and storage areas in a timely manner.
  • Determines workload requirements from information gathered from the catering order.
  • Manages multiple tasks utilizing excellent time management and organizational skills. Coaches staff to work in an organized manner meeting standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area.
  • Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and in following prescribed production standards.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and explains same to customers accurately.
  • Supports ADDS and FOHM with the training of staff and as needed provides input to training plans, performance evaluations and related.
  • Assist other functions as needed.

Requirements:

Education/Experience: High school education or GED; related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory or team lead experience in food service is required. Wait staff or related experience is beneficial.

Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Employees may be required to use certain mechanical, electric, sharp, heat producing, and other potentially dangerous equipment while performing job responsibilities. Employees will be instructed in the proper use, function and maintenance of all kitchen related equipment.

Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license may be required. Must possess or able to obtain within six months of hire ServeSafe Certification (we will provide and pay for the training). Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Position requires strong time management and organizational skills. Commitment to outstanding customer service for both residents and staff is required.
