Position Overview

Our client, a fast-growing company in the NYC Metro Area, is seeking a Controller to manage all accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, managing compliance, and providing financial insights to support executive decision-making. This role is critical to maintaining robust financial controls and supporting the companys growth. The candidate will be required to work on-site 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards, maintaining strong internal controls.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
• Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning.
• Manage financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure tax compliance by managing tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting professional.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing month-end close processes, financial statements, and audits.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.
• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
