Direct Support Professional (DSP) - 44i : Job Details

Direct Support Professionals are the heartbeat of providers serving adults with intellectual disabilities. The DSP plays a vital role in helping adults with intellectual disabilities reach their goals and aspirations through various forms.The DSP offers a variety of assistance such as helping with the implementation of person-centered goals and outcomes, administering and documenting medication through a state issued certification, documenting activities of daily living, and transporting individuals to and from community integrated settings.At a minimum, a GED is required, and the applicant must be at least 18 years old. Experience in the field of intellectual disabilities is helpful but not required as we provide a training curriculum designed to help the applicant acclimate to this service type and culture. The applicant must be able to pass a drug test and a national criminal background check per state requirements. Please note that not all findings will disqualify the applicant from employment.
