- Looking for an employee with strong experience working with Intellectually Disabled Children in a Day Support setting. Need strong skills in handling children with extreme behaviors.
- Responsible for assisting with the physical care, guidance and supervision of Intellectually Disabled Children in the Day support setting.
- Performs activities and duties to help individuals develop acceptable habits and attitudes; helps the individuals meet the outcomes of any service or behavioral plan; insures daily needs and health and safety of the individual are met; assist individuals with daily hygiene and personal living skills; complete data collection in accord with person centered plan; responds quickly and appropriately to unpredictable behavior and circumstances. - Ensures the daily needs of the children are properly met.
- Follows established procedures to report changes/concerns to appropriate persons.
- Develop a visual display of daily choices to encourage self-direction by the person you support.
- Actively include the children's strengths, interests, and talents in their plan and its implementation.
- Ensure that they understand the difference between what's important to them and what's important for them.
- Observes individuals daily for behavioral changes, physical injuries, conditions, and cleanliness.
- Completes data collection in accordance with Individual Service Plan.
- Performs required housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in the Day Support Rooms.
- Plans and implements special activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position requires the successful completion of training/certification in CPR, First Aid and TOVA Training.
- This position requires the successful completion of criminal history and central registry background investigations.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- ACTIVE AND UP TO DATE DRIVER'S LICENSE
- High school diploma, GED, and 2 Years of documented experience working with children with intellectual disabilities, Alzheimer's, Dementia, Special Ed, etc.
- DMV record and Social Security Card
