JOIN OUR TEAM!The Direct Support Transport will provide Habilitation services to assigned clients in accordance with the client's service plan. The primary role of the Direct Support Transport is to transport residents to appointments, activities, and other community events scheduled to promote physical and emotional health. Provides protective oversight and supervision during assigned shifts, and is responsible for documentation of services and progress toward goals. Works as Direct Support Staff when no appointments scheduled and completes all tasks for this position. Contributes to the interdisciplinary team process and makes recommendations as necessary. . This job is very rewarding. Note: schedule is generally every other weekend.WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Transport clients as needed for various reasons.
- Stay abreast of regulations and procedures for each service provided.
- Provide appropriate interventions to teach clients skills involving activities of daily living, community integration, functional, social, advocacy, and skills to promote physical and emotional health.
- Facilitate client group learning and support activities as assigned in order to meet the needs of the client as well as client interests, and goals as defined by the interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor clients' ability to take medication independently and/or passes medications according to physician's orders and reports any side effects.
- Provide protective oversight and supervision to clients for the duration of assigned shift, according to needs of each client, as outlined in their service plan.
- Participate in development and enforcement of restrictions and rules according to clients' treatment plans, and within Habilitation rules and Vera French policies and procedures
WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in Human Services field is preferred.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience working with the long term mentally ill population preferred.
- Must have a good driving record with the ability to be covered under Vera French's automobile insurance policy.
- Excellent written & verbal communications skills required.
- A valid driver's license REQUIRED with a driving record that will allow insurability
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen
- Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill population preferred

Shift times:
- Full-time, part-time and PRN (as needed) positions
- Three shifts, float positions may be available
- 1st shift (7a - 3p)
- 2nd shift (3p - 11p) with generous $3 differential
- 3rd shift (11p - 7a) with generous $2 differential
- $2 weekend incentive for working weekend shifts
