Walmart Connect is seeking a Director of Advanced Analytics & Media Insights in the Media Insights organization which oversees audience insights and measurement services for Walmart Connect clients. Reporting to the Group Director of Media Insights, you will lead a large team of advanced analytics professionals and bring the analytical rigor required to solve complex and ambiguous business challenges to drive advertiser growth and engagement. You will work cross-functionally with senior leadership from Product, Revenue Operations, Sales, Client Services, and Marketing teams to create insights to understand media performance, optimize return for advertisers, and generate incremental investment.

The individual needs to be analytical and solution-driven with the ability to partner with Sales and Client Service teams to effectively communicate complex media and measurement insights to clients / advertisers. You will lead a large team of talented people, leaders, and associates through business growth, transformation, and career development. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with partners in the organization are the key to success, along with a personal desire to mentor and modernize an Analytics team. You will be responsible for an entire product industry (i.e. Food or Consumables), guiding your team to leverage data-driven insights to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our advertising, ultimately maximizing ROI and achieving business objectives for Walmart Connect's largest clients.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

Category Oversight and Expertise: Demonstrate advertising and measurement leadership for a significant product industry (i.e. Food or Consumables). Drive the Media Insights delivery and service strategy for that industry.

Client Strategy: Collaborate closely with the Walmart Connect Sales and Marketing teams to develop, execute, and deliver strategic customer insights that influence media investment strategies and drive business growth opportunities for individual clients.

Measurement and Analytics Expertise: Spearhead the advancement, refinement, and execution of cutting-edge analytics and measurement analysis, encompassing predictive and experimental design approaches. Leverage these sophisticated techniques to extract nuanced insights and finely tune advertising strategies for maximum efficacy and impact.

Team Leadership and Development: Directly manage leaders (of leaders); mentor a team of measurement and insights professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

Collaboration with Product: Orchestrate productization of high-impact solutions in partnership with Product and Engineering to achieve scalability. Influence and support Product & Engineering to define and deliver a holistic measurement strategy to ensure Walmart Connect becomes an industry leader in this space.

Strategic Initiatives: Drive strategic initiatives by identifying opportunities, creating hypotheses, executing analyses, and translating data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations to enhance advertising effectiveness.

Executive-Level Presentations: Develop and deliver executive-level presentations and perspectives, effectively communicating insights and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Measurement Vendors Expertise: Act as an expert voice in your category for the interpretation of third-party measurement vendors for our clients. You will help your team understand new vendors and methodologies and how to effectively implement them with your category.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 5 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 7 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
  • 4 years' supervisory experience OR experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in an analytics leadership role within a digital advertising or marketing organization.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing a complex service function.
  • Strong expertise in advertising measurement methodologies, including attribution modeling, cross-channel analytics, and campaign analysis.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic insights and recommendations to drive business impact.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, economics, mathematics, business administration, marketing).
  • 15+ years' experience with media and marketing measurement, analytics, and reporting within an advertising agency/consulting.
  • Experience with online advertising, targeting and measurement systems and methodologies (ad servers, DSPs, DMPs, etc.).
  • Expert in advertising technology, including 3rd party ad-serving and tag management solutions and programmatic ad buying platform.
  • Able to develop unique and novel approach to advertising measurement using A/B and multivariate test design and advanced analytical statistical concepts.
  • Experience in developing and presenting strategic, action-oriented recommendations from complex analytics efficiently and engagingly to an executive audience.

History of success managing combination on-shore / off-shore teams. Experience with relationship building/management with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
