Job Description

The Director's goal is to manage and lead The Assembly Line towards the realization of its mission. They will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the organization's staff, business model, programs, space, memberships and growth. They will also be the liaison between the Board of Directors and Staff, serving in both capacities. This person will ideally have entrepreneurial experience and knowledge of the greater community and ecosystem.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with the Board of Directors and Team to set the strategic vision for the organization

* Create business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives

* Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals

* Ensure that staff, projects, short and long-term initiatives align with company culture

* Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors and build board involvement

* Lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performance team

* Ensure consistent quality of workspace, memberships, programs, finance and administration, fundraising, communications, systems, etc.

* Assess the budget needs of the organization and create financial reports for stakeholders to review

* Create successful fundraising plans for organizational short- and long-term goals.

* Direct and oversee investments and fundraising efforts

* Forge and maintain relations of trust with shareholders, partners and the external community

* Actively engage and energize volunteers, board members, event committees, partnering organizations, and funders

* Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate organization components, to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.

* Ensure adherence of the organization's daily activities and long-term plans

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Ten years of related experience

* Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience

* Three (3) or more years in nonprofit fundraising

* Experience developing strategies and plans

* Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation

* Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget

* Ability to apply successful fundraising and networking techniques

* Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills

* Ability and willingness to act as organizations press and public relations representative in ways that will garner new opportunities and strengthen its reputation.

* Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

* Doctoral degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Ten (10) or more years of supervisory experience

* Five (5) or more years in nonprofit fundraising

* Experience working directly with a Board of Directors

* Experience in budget projections and financial management for budgets over $1 million

* General knowledge of the region's business climate, including resources, needs, strategic opportunities, etc.
