JOB DESCRIPTION -The Director of Behavioral Health Services has primary responsibility for the management, oversight, and supervision of all mental health and substance use outpatient, mental health and substance use case management services, medical/psychiatric, ACT (Assertive Community Treatment), psychiatric rehabilitation, peer support, and pharmacy services. -The Director will also have responsibility for growing and developing new services consistent with the nature of the program areas assigned . -These responsibilities include child/adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. -The Director is also designated as the Leadership Team member assigned to supervise overall York-Poquoson office services and operations. The Director is expected to provide key leadership on behalf of implementing the agency?s Strategic Initiative Plan, Mission and Performance Contract. -The Director is a member of the executive leadership team. -In this capacity, the Director participates with the Executive Director in guiding the direction of the agency. The Director provides assistance and support to the Board of Directors and its committees. -The Director provides development and implementation of programs, services and operations; maximization of the deployment of clinical and personnel resources; development and oversight of department budgets and fiscal performance; and oversight of personnel performance, corporate compliance, and best practice. -The Director is expected to facilitate organizational excellence through work groups, committees, teams and projects. -The Director oversees mid-level leaders and department performance. -The employee is expected to possess excellent management skills, including facilitation and collaboration. -The employee represents the agency and provides leadership on local, regional and state work groups, committees, and projects, participates in planning initiatives, and participates in the VA Association of Community Services Boards. - - The employee is expected to possess diverse skills and abilities in the administration, development and implementation of behavioral health services and operations. -Independent initiative, flexibility, and teamwork are essential. JOB DUTIES
  • Management, oversight and supervision of assigned services.
  • Oversees development and implementation of the department budget, and budget performance regarding expenditures and revenues. -
  • Oversees monitors and ensures corporate compliance with agency policies and procedures, and all applicable external regulations. -
  • Develops and/or reviews department reports for the leadership, the Board of Directors, and local, regional and state agencies or authorities. -
  • Oversees employment, supervision and performance of assigned personnel. - - -
  • External management and oversight of department performance - operations and services. -
  • Directly, or by delegation, supervises and evaluates employees.
  • Facilitates, or participates in, planning for the department and organization. -
  • Collaborates with local, regional and state agencies and organizations on behalf of the agency, to include development and planning. -
  • Helps to identify and prepare funding opportunities for development and growth ? grants; projects; local, regional, state and federal initiatives. - - - -
  • Provides performance utilization review, evaluation and analysis of the department ? to include balanced scorecard and outcome measures. -
  • Works in collaboration with the executive leadership team, mid-level leadership, various work groups, committees and projects.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned. WORK SCHEDULE Hours will vary. QUALIFICATIONS (EEO) Minimum of a Master?s Degree in a related field required. At least five years? experience in clinical and organizational leadership in a behavioral healthcare setting. Virginia-recognized licensure as a Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Substance Abuse Treatment Professional, Psychological Practitioner or Clinical Psychologist required..
