JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Director, Builder Sales to join our growing team.

THE ROLE

Increase sales of JELD-WEN products to production builders in the U.S. Develop sales and service programs targeted for the production builder market. Hunt new business and cultivate existing customers to grow share. Maximize overall profit potential with product mix and upgrade selling strategies. Leverage a large team of Territory Sales Managers to pull sales through new and existing Dealers and National Accounts.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary initial focus on the JELD-WEN Windows product portfolio.
  • Develop a strong, direct relationship with builders in the market in order to increase and control their specification of JELD-WEN windows, exterior doors and interior doors and examine avenues to meet and exceed their needs and requirements.
  • Convert competitive window purchases to JELD-WEN at the builder level.
  • “Pull” sales through the distribution channel and pro-actively manage the distribution of JELD-WEN products.
  • Control the relationship with the builder throughout the entire distribution channel.
  • Increase the specification of JELD-WEN's upgraded window options at the builder level.
  • To be viewed by the builder as a “business advisor” or “consultant expert” who will assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Call on decision makers in all areas of responsibility within a builder's organization.
  • Develop a plan to meet the needs, requirements, desires, likes, dislikes, and utilize the best distributor relationships to achieve our optimal sales potential.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the entire process of builder specification.
  • Facilitate the entire process of builder specification of JELD-WEN's windows throughout the distribution channel.
  • Monitor the relationship between the builder and our distribution channel partners.
  • Participate in the Builder Trade Shows as strategically aligned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • High level of personal character, commitment to get the job done, unwillingness to compromise core principles, treat people with respect and dignity and serve as a mentor to positively influence others.
  • A team player with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively, gain consensus with diverse audiences and forge alliances with internal and external contacts.
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with the JELD-WEN Policies & Procedures and treat others as you would like to be treated. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and ethics.
  • Minimum of 8 years sales experience, proven track record of hunting new channels and expanding through new and existing accounts in complex supply chain environments.
  • Builder sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Customer Relationship Management System, Quick Quote, Expense Reporting Program, Internet Web Browser and ability to adopt new skills quickly.
  • Ability to read Blue Prints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver a professional presentation to large and small audiences both internal and external.
  • Ability to organize material and produce needed documentation, support as needed.
  • Travel as appropriate and required by your manager (50+% of time).
  • Support the JELD-WEN mission statement.

Education and Experience

  • High School degree required, College degree preferred.
  • 5+ years selling experience in the building materials field with an emphasis on calling on builders preferred.

Expected pay for this role is between $152,300.00 to $253,800.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
