Job DescriptionAgilent is seeking an energetic, creative, strategic, and experienced communications professional to fill the role of Director of Business and Organization Communications. This team member will report to the vice president of Enterprise Communications.The role requires you to be responsible for supporting communications strategies and tactics highlighting the work of the Life Sciences and Genomics Markets Group, or LDG, a rapidly growing business at Agilent. This team member will serve as a trusted strategic communications partner to the LDG president and will help advance the company's corporate narrative.In addition, the Director of Business and Organization Communications will lead communications program directors who support Agilent's other two businesses — the Applied Markets Group (AMG) and the Agilent CrossLab Group (ACG) — as well as Agilent's enabling organizations, such as Finance, Legal, and HR.This person's work will engage, inform, and inspire LDG in an essential role within a rapidly evolving company.The individual selected for this position also will be called upon to occasionally provide strategic communications support to other Agilent executives and collaborate closely with other members of the Enterprise Communications organization on companywide communications strategies and tactics.Responsibilities Model Agilent's Leadership Expectations while managing a team of 3-5 communications professionals.Set the strategy for business and organizational communications for the enterprise.Help define the communications strategies and initiatives that support LDG strategy.Serve as the lead communicator for all LDG news and activities.Work closely with the LDG president to determine the communications strategy that will tell the LDG story and share important business information in a compelling, engaging manner — both externally and internally.Serve as a strategic communications adviser to key executives on messaging, tone, and speaker delivery.Understand the strategic objectives of Agilent's businesses and organizations and develop strategic communications conveyed in the voice of our leaders.Serve as the acknowledged communications expert for Agilent's businesses and organizations, providing guidance and counsel for senior leadership.Seek thought-leadership opportunities for the organization to help further the Agilent story with external audiences.Develop and drive strategic communications programs to engage LDG employees.Coordinate communications strategies and tactics among the communications program directors who support Agilent's businesses and organizations.Develop strategic and timely PowerPoint presentations, video scripts, social-media posts, and other written materials to support LDG and Agilent's other businesses and organizations. This might also include Q&A documents, website content, executive talking points, fact sheets, and other materials.Work closely with the leader of external communications and employee communications to prepare company spokespeople for external and internal speaking engagement, including media interviews and town halls, as needed.Measure the progress, results, and impact of communications efforts for Agilent's businesses and organizations.Qualifications7+ years of PR/communications/executive-communications experience.Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.Strong presence as a trusted communications adviser to top executives.Ability to achieve positive results in a dynamic environment, often on short deadlines.Experience managing business issues and navigating/synthesizing various viewpoints.Ability to understand Agilent's strategic business objectives and convey the unique value of the Agilent corporate story and culture to a broad set of audiences.Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and the ability to develop outstanding executive presentations.Must be able to simultaneously focus on strategy, tactics, and driving results.A strong team player with a record of success working cross-functionally and influencing teams.Skilled at translating complex topics into compelling, digestible stories.Experience executing coordinated, impactful communications strategies and programs.Additional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least December 4, 2024 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $150,000.00 - $281,250.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
