Director, Civil Engineering

When you join Design Group as a Director, Civil Engineering, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world's leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Architecture/Engineering Process Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You'll Do

• Lead site engineering and A/E engineering project teams
• Develop and execute projects for our clients, with a focus on efficiency and high quality
• Assume responsibility for scope development, technical oversight, risk management, resource management, project leadership, and client leadership
• Develop and maintain client accounts
• Develop proposals that accurately and concisely define the scope of work in alignment with the client's objectives
• Review design deliverables
• Seek input from the discipline leaders, project managers, and the construction team for lessons learned
• Recruit and mentor staff to improve their body of knowledge and capabilities in alignment with overall practice goals
• Encourage the individual growth and improvement of each team member
• Seek out and offer opportunities for team member growth and advancement
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team

What You'll Bring

• 15+ years of experience in business development, operations management, project management, technical sales, technical services/applications engineering, A/E engineering consulting, and quality management
• 10+ years of experience in site development, civil engineering, and project management
• Preferred experience: manufacturing sector projects, with food, beverage, consumer packaged goods or life science facilities
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering site development projects from initiation to completion
• Experience working with in-house multi-discipline engineering & architecture, and construction management teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with our team members and clients
• Proficiency in written and verbal technical communication, including generating reports and conducting group presentations
• A willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
• A Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• A Master of Science in a related field (preferred)
• A Professional Engineering (PE) license
