Director - CME & Faculty Affairs Odessa 39589BR Position Description Directs, plans, coordinates, and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks, and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and the community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Major/Essential Functions 1. Leadership and Strategic Planning: - Develop and implement strategic goals for both CME and Faculty Affairs, in alignment with the mission and vision of TTUHSC Permian Basin. - Collaborate with academic leadership to enhance professional development programs for faculty. - Ensure the CME program remains compliant with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) standards. 2. CME Management: - Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of CME activities to ensure they meet educational needs and are ACCME-compliant. - Collaborate with clinical and academic departments and external partners to provide high-quality CME programs. - Ensure accreditation maintenance and manage CME program budgets and reporting. 3. Faculty Affairs Management: - Assist with faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure processes. - Coordinate faculty development programs, workshops, and resources to enhance teaching, research, and leadership skills. - Serve as a liaison between faculty members and administration for professional development and compliance issues. 4. Supervisory Responsibilities: - Directly supervise the CME Coordinator and Faculty Affairs Coordinator, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management. - Foster a collaborative work environment, ensuring efficient operations within both areas. 5. Compliance and Reporting: - Ensure compliance with TTUHSC and regulatory standards for CME activities and faculty processes. - Manage the development of reports, audits, and accreditation documentation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related area is required plus five years of progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
