With our prestigious Commercial Ready program, curators meticulously review all artist profiles and artworks, as they are constantly searching relevant talent for commercial projects across US and global locations.

Job

  • Remote art curator based in NYC or tri-state area (NY, CT, NJ) to join a team of curators

Responsibilities

  • Lead art projects for commercial clients in curating artists, mobilizing artworks, and helping production operations
  • Execute assignments successfully by balancing the love of art with efficient utilization of proprietary art platform technology
  • Source, engage, and negotiate with artists for commercial projects
  • Maintain client relationships and actively manage projects from start to finish:
  • Collecting requirements
  • Proposing strategy of project and/or client relationship
  • Communicating with all stakeholders
  • Developing presentations
  • Partnering with Operations Leaders on production details
  • Performing profitability analysis

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in client management: producing and presenting decks to clients, leading clients to decisions, coordinating tasks across multiple teams
  • Monitoring and analyzing budget spending, costs, and margin calculations
  • Project leadership acumen to oversee workflows, ensure error-free execution, and apply creative problem-solving
  • Client interactions that called for careful listening skills, meaning the ability to “read the room” and recognize potential issues and opportunities
  • Researching for insights, talent, and data

Desired Experience

  • Art curation
  • Artist recruitment
  • Artwork sales or sales
  • Prior jobs in galleries, art consultancies, or art exhibitions
  • Networking with art industry contacts to find and secure artists and artworks
  • Understanding of artist contracts, artwork production, and installations

Skills

  • Use of various online tools, including Google sheets & slides or Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
  • Professional writing and speaking skills
  • Effective member of teams, reliable, proactive, takes ownership
  • Keen desire to learn new skills and functions as the company evolves and grows
  • Disciplined, self-sufficient, focused, ever to excel with perseverance & integrity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Business
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts
