Please note, this link is only accessible for MSK employees.Job Description: Director , Facilities PlanningExciting Opportunity at MSKJ oin our Planning, Design + Construction team to lead strategic facility development and optimize space utilization across MSK's clinical, research, and educational goals. The focus of this role extends beyond research and scientific initiatives; it requires a comprehensive approach across the entire clinical enterprise, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient operations. This position will play a critical role in developing and executing a Strategic Facilities Master Plan, evaluating all organizational assets, and ensuring alignment with long-term institutional goals. Key considerations include assessing the feasibility and value of opportunities for growth, understanding its broader impact, and determining how it strategically advances the organization's mission ,Position Overview :* Strategic Planning : Develop and implement a long-term Facilities Master Plan aligned with institutional goals.* Stakeholder Collaboration : Work with senior leaders, architects, contractors, and government entities to coordinate space planning and projects.* Space Optimization : Translate operational needs into functional space programs and manage requests for building changes or new construction.* Project Oversight : Track progress, identify interdependencies, and remove bottlenecks for successful project execution.* Real Estate Development: Partner with the Real Estate team to identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities supporting growth and development goals.* Operational Support: Oversee relocations, pre-occupancy activities, and space utilization analyses for short- and long-term planning.* Leadership : Manage and mentor staff, ensure professional development, and lead cross-functional teams for facilities-related initiatives.Key Qualifications:* 7-10 years of leadership experience in facilities planning and management.* Expertise in strategic space planning, project management, and stakeholder coordination.* Ability to interpret architectural plans and manage complex projects effectively.* Proficient in interpreting operational objectives into functional space programs, including physical layouts, utility services, technology requirements, and space allocation standards.* Knowledge of space utilization data analysis and the ability to provide insights to senior management.* Proven experience in managing large-scale and complex construction or alteration projects.* Experience representing the organization in professional and civic organizations to foster community relations.Core Skills:* Strong project management skills to oversee multiple, large-scale projects from inception to completion.* Ability to align facility planning initiatives with the organization's long-term strategic goals.* Experience in assessing future trends in healthcare delivery and their implications for space and facilities.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.* Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative approaches to facility planning.Additional Information:* This role is based at MSK's 633 Third Avenue location.* Schedule: Hybrid, flexibility to be onsite for collaborative meetings as needed* Reporting to the VP, Design & ConstructionPay Range: $193,800 - $329,500Helpful Links :* MSK Compensation Philosophy* Review Our Greats Benefits OfferingsClosing: MSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
