Role Purpose:
The Global Finance Operations Record to Report Director leads the delivery of Record to Report functions and teams including general ledger accounting, month end closing, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, account reconciliations and various other processes. The role is responsible for the process and performance outcomes of both on & off-shore (BPO) accounting functions. Ensure the compliance with SLAs, developing, distributing and monitoring KPIs, leading, motivating and coaching teams, ensuring continuous improvement of processes, providing excellent customer service to business units (act as first point of contact) and driving effectiveness through a shared service. The Record to Report Director will oversee monthly accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and corporate policies as well as play a key role in implementing process improvements, integrating new systems and businesses into Global Finance Operations. They will be a key participant in the company-wide Finance transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations performed by both on & offshore (BPO based in India) teams; provide analytics to key business stakeholders for decision making; ensure completion according to deadlines for Month End Closing and corporate Data Reporting; provide support on requests for both internal and external audits throughout the year.
+ Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the overall RTR activities as performed by both the on-shore and off-shore teams.
+ Pro-actively identify, lead the BPO India team and onshore team on overall service delivery excellence through Continues Improvement.
+ Develop, coach, and manage staff into mature financial advisors with focus on customer service and with a one-team mindset towards our offshore and other GFO Towers team members (e.g. Order-to-Cash, Accounts Payable) and the business stakeholders.
+ Work independently on the day-to day deliverables with both onshore, offshore teams, and business stakeholders; keeping a Global mindset to ensure global process standardization, centralization, and automation.
+ Provide excellent customer service to business stakeholders including addressing and resolving queries escalated by both on & offshore teams in a timely and collaborative manner.
+ Serves as business partner by maintaining in-depth knowledge of the industry and accounting policies & principles; processes from other Global Finance Operations Towers (e.g. Accounts Payable, Order-to-Cash).
+ Regularly interact with and influence finance business leaders, providing subject matter expertise and proactively diffuse tension and conflict.
+ Develop and review monthly metrics with BPO and business stakeholders, to improve processes and resolve issues. Proactively identify opportunities to expand scope of services which lead to global efficiency.
+ Work alongside R2R Global Process Owner and Peers to champion process efficiencies, to develop new accounting policies and procedures; align both on & offshore teams & processes to support the strategic goals of the department and the company, and to drive continues improvement in the organization.
+ Manage the transition of new processes from business units into Global Finance Operations for a successful transition. Identify organizational and/or project needs and make appropriate resource allocations to support business goals
+ Collaborate effectively with peers to support key company-wide initiatives (e.g. Account Recons. Quality Assurance Program, SAP S/4 HANA) and to support the Finance transformation roadmap led by R2R Global Process Owner (people, process, technology).
+ Research US GAAP as it relates to significant matters and provide accounting guidance to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
+ Overseeing all applicable SOX documentation, compliance and providing audit support to both internal and external auditors.
+ Identifying areas of control risk. Assist in designing and recommending mitigating control procedures. Ensure that adequate and effective system of internal controls is maintained for reporting and analysis.
+ Contribute to the development and achievement of departmental strategic objectives.
+ Other duties and special projects as needed.
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting
+ CPA required
+ 10+ years' experience in private or public accounting with experiences directly related to key responsibilities required
+ 3+ years' audit experience (external or internal audit) preferred
+ 5+ years' leadership experience required
+ 4+ years' experience in direct management of offshore Record-to-Report teams in an outsourced or global shared services environment required
+ Solid work experience in general ledger accounting, month end close functions including Fixed Asset accounting, account reconciliations, trial balance reviews, analysis, KPI & metrics. Lease accounting (ASC 842) experience a plus
+ Experience in implementing global processes and systems
+ Experience in driving process improvement within a Finance organization
+ Successful track record of development/delivery of complex solutions
+ Experience with SAP ECC FI or other large ERP systems and subsystems (e.g., Blackline)
+ Proficiency in a variety of systems including MS office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Power BI and high-level Excel spreadsheet such as familiarity of macros, pivot tables, lookup, IF functions)
+ International experience preferred (understanding of currencies, FX, intercompany)
+ Entertainment industry preferred

+ Must have broad knowledge of US GAAP, with strong technical accounting, process, and controls background
+ Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to details a must
+ Experience in leading & delivering system/process improvements and implementing projects within a finance organization
+ Flexibility to work overtime (direct reports spread across NY and LA) or travel, as needed
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
