Role Overview:

Alameda Health System is hiring! The Director of Imaging Services plans, organizes and directs the overall operations of the organization's imaging services; develops operational procedures and guidelines in accordance with State and regulatory agencies.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

  • Accomplishes special projects by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
  • Oversees current vendor relationships; engages in evaluation of current services provided.
  • Oversees imaging operations budget; develops strategies to increase revenue and reduce expenses; participates in initiatives to impact quality improvement, fiscal and productivity goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Provides leadership in the development of imaging operations' vision and strategy for all facilities, including the establishment of organizationally-aligned performance goals, -timelines & outcome measures.
  • Provides strategic direction for the provision of imaging services throughout all service line.
  • Responsible for prioritizing and adjusting the strategic plan and initiatives in response to organizational, regulatory or market driven changes.
  • Responsible for the assessment and optimization of imaging workflows and processes to optimize resources and operational efficiencies across the organization.
  • Supervises staff and manages employee performance; provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests way to develop skills; monitors workflow.

Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Required Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Certification as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of California Department of Public Health; certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).

Required Experience: Seven years within a radiology/imaging services department; five years in a supervisory capacity.
