You will act in a leadership capacity cross-functionally to pursue innovative solutions that help achieve better business outcomes and remove barriers to consistent, high-quality deliverables. You will be autonomous in serving as a trusted marketing strategist to clients, and accountable for partnering with the Account Director in pursuit of continued business growth and impact. You will also be responsible for continuing to elevate the Integrated Planning discipline through participation in department-wide improvement initiatives and training opportunities (alongside the Group Director). KEY OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key Outcome: Articulation of strategic, insightful communications approach and media strategy to deliver on client goals Key Responsibilities:
- Coach direct reports towards development of a connective communication plan strategy based on the needs of the clients' business, fostering an innovative planning mindset, and advancing the media expertise of your team.
- Teach the importance of natural curiosity to your team, leveraging your outside perspective to elevate strategic planning deliverables.
- Present Butler/Till solutions through a compelling, storytelling lens to stakeholders (internally and externally).
- Actively lead strategic planning activities and brainstorming sessions alongside Client Lead(s) and Client team(s).
- Identify and lead the development of Department-wide training initiatives, as deemed appropriate by Department Head.

- Participate in cross-functional team brainstorming and innovative problem solving to improve campaign performance and/or capitalize on marketplace opportunities.
- Consistently seek feedback across functions to measure and improve team's performance against broader client vision and Butler/Till initiatives.

- Forge partnerships with Directors from Channel, Analytics, Account Management, and Operations, partnering with them to regularly assess and provide recommendations to functional processes, optimizing towards effectiveness and removing barriers that negatively impact quality and results
- Support development of relevant client and external agency relationships, as outlined by Account Director(s)
- Serve as an escalation point for client(s) and Account Director(s) when addressing client feedback and/or team challenges, in partnership with the Associate Director
Key Outcome: Transformational client business impact Key Responsibilities:
- Be a trusted marketing consultant for Clients and Account Director(s) through a showcased understanding of the Clients' category, competition, and audience.
- Support Account Director(s) with pursuit of expanded scope offerings, through the lens of the overarching campaign strategy and understanding of the Accounts' macro vision.
- Engage cross-functional team in forward-looking planning, recommending innovative opportunities for your portfolio
- Share learnings and quality work deliverables across your portfolio within department meetings, encouraging reapplication across Planning team members facing similar challenges
- Support team in providing consistent, confident strategy point of view and leadership across larger Planning initiatives (e.g., annual planning, strategic set-up of reoccurring deliverables, complex reporting instances, etc.)
- Represent portfolio work in case studies and industry award submissions, leveraging team resource(s) as necessary to pull-through submission needs
- Accountable to ensuring a consistent knowledge across the team of landscape evolution, identifying gaps in key trend/industry perspectives to escalate as department-wide training opportunities

- Proactively manage talent plans within your client portfolio. Assess, hire, on-board, and grow role-appropriate talent
- Manage a team of Associate Director(s), Manager(s), and Planner(s) as dictated by the scope of your portfolio; setting
clear, outcome-based performance goals by title and development plans for direct reports
- Support in executing the action plan that helps contribute to department-wide engagement goals
- Provide effective feedback that enables employees to improve and work toward goals, while seeking feedback from team to enable inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Provide opportunities for growth and development, strategically planning and actively seeking opportunities to acknowledge, promote, and appreciate the team, individual contributions, and cross-functional partners

Other Responsibilities:
- Lead onboarding of new clients within client portfolio
- Contribute to net new business opportunities for the Agency through participation in defining of strategy for new business pitches, external presentation to prospective clients, creating connections at industry events (where relevant), and other support at the discretion of new business lead
- Ability to travel - varies by client. Hiring manager will clearly articulate travel requirements for account (s); subject to change based on the dynamic needs of individual clients.
RequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Communication, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- 10+ years' experience in Integrated Planning or another strategic facing role in marketing, advertising, media, and communications
- 5+ years' of direct managerial experience
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and training larger-scale teams on key Planning concepts (e.g., building actionable insights from research, how to write strategic communications plans, storytelling, etc.)
- Compelling and persuasive storyteller, both in written and verbal presentations/deliverables
- Expertise in analyzing campaign data, performance analytics, and delivering insights - inclusive of third-party measurement solutions (e.g., brand lift studies, test/control reporting, etc.)
- Experience working in an agency setting and cross-functional working-knowledge base, across media, creative, analytics, account, and client teams
- Experience with fostering organic growth and successfully partnering with account service teams to introduce new services to client organizations.
- Mastered use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with industry-specific third-party measurement partners, as relevant for the portfolio (e.g., IQVIA, Crossix for Healthcare portfolio)
- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, project management tools, and media planning programs
- Intermediate knowledge and experience in media buying platforms and concepts, in support of cross-functional collaboration and barrier removal

The compensation range for this position is $81,000 - $114,000 and represents the annual salary range in Rochester, NY. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.This is just one component of Butler/Till's total compensation package for employee owners. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including ESOP (employee stock ownership plan), an annual bonus, in addition to a full benefits package, and paid time off benefits, including 100% paid parental leave.
