We are currently looking to fill a Director of IT Operations position. This position ensures the reliable operation of the IT infrastructure and operations portfolio. This role involves supervising, planning, coordinating, directing, crafting, and delivering activities of the IT operational staff primarily in the GxP environment. The Director provides administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the department, including responsibility for all hardware and compute / communications infrastructure, also, ensuring integration and coordination with Corporate systems and infrastructure.
In this role, a typical day might include the following:
Responsible for driving and delivering work plans, providing technical direction to IT operations staff, and delivering technology solutions to end users.
Works closely with decision-makers in other IT Automation and manufacturing departments as well as Corporate IT to proactively identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support efficient technology solutions for all aspects of site IT Infrastructure. Always ensuring data Integrity and GMP standards are maintained.
Provides operational management of functions under established standards and processes set by Corporate IT. Integrates local resources with global teams for Data Center Operations, Network Services, Telecom/communications, System Monitoring, Asset Management, Desktop Support, Security, Identity and Access Management (IAAM), and Observability. Also insuring direct manufacturing support 24 x 7.
Provides oversight to vendors and staff augmentation providers for the delivery of IT Operational services.
Engage with all members of IT management in developing, integrating, and implementing technologies that support operational and strategic goals.
Helps define and implement IT policies, procedures, and standard processes.
Develops operational goals as well as systems specifications.
Provides technical mentorship, develops solutions, and implements plans as per project needs.
Ensures training of staff on operational procedures.
Builds schedules, work plans, and product cost guidelines
Leads IT department planning, including innovation, planning projects, and allocation of resources.
Delivers deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT infrastructure.
Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
Is responsible for the implementation and management of IAAM solutions to ensure secure access to systems and data, aligning with corporate security policies and compliance requirements.
Implements observability practices and tools to ensure comprehensive monitoring of IT systems, enabling proactive issue detection and resolution.
This role may be for you if you:
Have at least three years experience in an FDA or similarly regulated environment
Have management and delivery experience, including management of a diverse technical team, including Helpdesk, Desktop, Server, and Network staff. Experience leading vendors
Have experience in designing and deploying SLAs, Metrics, and other standard methodologies, as well as having successfully implemented ITIL practices into an organization
Expertise in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning
Are knowledgeable in implementing Identity and Access Management solutions
Have experience with observability tools and practices, including monitoring, logging, and tracing of IT systems
To be considered for this role you must hold a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field and the following amount of related experience, for each level:
Director 12+ years
Sr Director 15+ years
May substitute proven experience for education requirement. Level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.

Salary Range (annually)
$166,300.00 - $326,900.00
