Job Description - Director, Manufacturing Ops (329543)
Job Summary:
Textron Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Operations to support the Textron Systems team in Hunt Valley, MD. He/She will report directly to the Sr. Vice President, Air, Land and Sea Systems and will provide leadership and accountability for all manufacturing operations at the Hunt Valley, MD location. This position is responsible for establishing the vision, goals, and metrics across the manufacturing organization that supports the various Air, Land and Sea programs.
Responsibilities:
Culture- Develop relationships to create trusted partners across the organization in executing to common business goals.
- Develop overall culture for continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of ownership from upfront planning through delivering the product to the customer.
- Ensure compliance in all aspects of manufacturing operations to internal procedures, the Quality Management System, and ISO 9001/AS9100.
- Foster collaboration and partnerships throughout all site locations.
- Drive use of standardized lean & quality tools, share best practices, and benchmark world-class companies to achieve a higher level of Operational Excellence.
Talent- Evaluate organizational design and recommend improvements to optimize resources.
- Plan, assign and direct work, provide promotional and salary recommendations, coach, train and develop talent, and address complaints and resolve personnel problems to establish and maintain employee performance standards.
- Develop and execute a roadmap to achieve long-term operational success.
- Establish and execute capital planning for the manufacturing functions.
- Develop and execute the manufacturing strategies in support of New Product Development (NPD) that satisfy near-term demands of development programs and support the long-term vision of transitioning to full-rate production.
Process- Communicate problem resolution to customers and senior management.
- Analyze data, identify areas of opportunity, and implement improvements or corrective actions to address inefficiencies or quality issues.
- Develop manufacturing and quality plans in support of Proposals and Awarded Programs.
Budgeting- Develop manufacturing Cost Bids for proposals as well as initial baseline budgets and estimates to completes for awarded programs.
- Manage direct and indirect budgets.
Tools- Maintain and improve the Enterprise Quality Dashboard.
- Maintain and improve the Warehouse Dashboard.
- Maintain and improve the Planning Dashboard.
- Maintain and improve the resource Load/Capacity System.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a discipline related to Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior level, multi-site, lean and/or quality leadership role preferably in a DOD or Aerospace Environment.Successful track record of Talent development and problem solving.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities.Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.Manufacturing Engineering - Early influence in design for manufacturability and design for unit production cost.Manufacturing strategy – outsource vs insource, capacity planning.Inventory Control.How We Care:

Textron's compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $169,600 - $261,800 per year.
