CARILLON is recruiting for a hospitality focused Director of Assisted Living to join our team!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Assure the provision of quality services needed and/or desired by residents, consistent with the policies and procedures established by owner/governing board.
* Implement and ensure adherence to financial and operational policies approved by the facility's owner/governing board and LCS.
* Manage and actively participate in occupancy development through marketing and professional networking to assure targeted occupancy goals are met. Contribute to the annual marketing plan and budget.
* Participate in preparation of the annual operating budget; monitor expenditures and revenue to provide specified services within budget; recommend employee wage adjustments according to budget guidelines.
* Maintain licensure and certification of the facility; ensure ongoing compliance with local, state and federal regulations and/or accrediting body standards; maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
* Maintain a positive relationship with representatives of government agencies responsible for surveying and inspecting the facility, and with the community health delivery system; maintain quality services for residents at the level established by the owner/governing board; take initiative to plan and implement innovative program services that meet resident needs.
* Develop a positive professional relationship with residents and their families, owner/governing board, professional organizations, community groups, and other appropriate publics.
* Maintain an active relationship with residents through individual and group interaction, attending resident functions and meetings; support resident-centered activity programs.
* Communicate regularly with Administrator to report on operational issues.
* Strive to attain excellence in resident satisfaction through ongoing solicitation and measurement of resident/family feedback, implementation of suggestions.
* Ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe, sanitary manner consistent with economics and governing board policies.
* Provide ongoing support and supervision of all program staff including contracted staff and volunteers.
* Maintain a working atmosphere that is supportive of staff and keeps them informed while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY

* Have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Must communicate with internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
* Have the ability to effectively lead and supervise staff members and to work cooperatively as part of a team.
* Have the ability to maintain a professional relationship with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff by demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills and demeanor.
* Possess a knowledge of and special sensitivity to the needs of the aging.
* Possesses knowledge of and implements infection control and universal precaution practices.
* A background in financial management, including budget preparation, cash flow management, and analysis of financial reports.
* Have the ability to work independently with self-discipline and self-motivation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Have a High School diploma/GED required.
* Have an Associate's degree in Nursing, Health Care Management, or a related field preferred.
* OR have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Care Management, or a related field preferred.
* Have at least one year of experience working in management or in health care industry management.
PERSONAL AND PUBLIC CONTACT
The Assisted Living Director will have personal contact with all levels of Carillon staff, residents, visitors, other healthcare professionals, and government agencies.
