JOB SUMMARY Position is responsible for the design, implementation and supervision of sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for all student-athletes. The Director of Athletic Performance works with each sport coach, as well as the athletic trainers to safely implement and provide the best quality programming for each student-athlete and each athletic program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role):
- Develop and implement sport-specific strength, speed, and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate athletics programs.
- Assist with nutritional guidance for the athletics programs at the level qualified for individual student-athletes as needed working closely with the athletic training staff and coaches.
- Interact with head coaches to discuss sport and player specific needs and design programs accordingly.
- Regularly communicate with the athletic training staff regarding injuries, injury prevention planning and player-specific modifications to programs.
- Maintain up to date records on the performance training program of each team and specific individual workouts of all student-athletes. Administer testing and continually monitor programs for effectiveness.
- Supervise and work with interns and graduate assistant coaches.
- Work closely with the Hull Center Director regarding equipment maintenance, organization and scheduling.
- Work with the Athletic Services Coordinator and Associate Director of Athletics for Administration to schedule team use of the BAPC and Hull Center Weight Room.
- Provide supervision and monitoring of student-athletes utilizing the athletic facilities.
- Encourage and motivate student-athletes to develop and understand the benefits of conditioning and strength training.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and rules of the NAIA as it relates to the position, as well as related governing bodies.
- Monitor the BAPC and Hull Center Weight Room, checking equipment functionality, facility layout and general facility cleanliness.
- Provide education, training and evaluation of the Hull Center weight room student attendants working closely with the Hull Center Director.
- Coordinate maintenance/replacement schedule of equipment with Associate Director of Athletics for Administration/Director of Athletics and assist in obtaining information regarding new equipment purchases and upgrades.
- Act as a responsible party for upholding the highest standards of injury prevention and rehabilitation of student-athletes in collaboration with the athletic training staff.
- Create a program whereby interns and practicum students will gain hands on experience and education in the strength of conditioning program
- Assist with Facility planning and development.

- Must be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications are required.
