Job Location : Burtonsville,MD, USA
Thriving Family Academy (TFA) launched in 2023 with the simple mission:
To empower kids to thrive - one family at a time.
We are a small and mighty team aimed at re-imagining how we empower families to thrive. We deeply believe the essential ingredients of thriving are a close-knit and caring community in addition to daily, self-regulation practices that enable families to grow and flourish in the midst of the big & small challenges of life. We do this with world-class before and after school care during the spring and fall semester and a full-day camp through the summer in Burtonsville, Maryland (within 30 minutes of Baltimore & DC).
We are a non-profit because we deeply believe that world-class child care should be accessible to ALL families by focusing on three things:
Individualized care for our kids and their families with one of MD's lowest mentor-to-kid ratios of 1:5
Closely partner with our kids, their parents, caregivers and their teachers. TFA mentors offer 1-on-1 Mentor & Parenting Brainstorming Sessions on a weekly basis, in addition to monthly caregiver coffees to provide both a trusted community of support and real-world parent training
Hands-on Training and Certification with the cutting-edge psychological approach Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) to help connect with, understand the needs of ALL kids, and finally best help our kids grow emotionally, socially and academically
TFA Core Values: Committed, Hungry, and Humble
Committed to the belief that with enough time, nurture and support that ANY kid & their family can thrive.
Hungry and ready to learn, re-imagine, and create the way we care for and empower kids and their families.
Humble enough to know that helping kids thrive is HARD work and is willing to admit & grow from our mistakes.
These 3 core values help us walk the walk because we know that healthy people help people, that's why we create a team culture & work schedule that promotes emotional well-being among our team, so they can sustainably serve our families!
