Job Description :
WHO WE ARE

Hi, we're The Garage—a visual innovation company at the forefront of redefining how stories are told. Founded by tabletop director Steve Giralt, we are passionate about creating stunning, unforgettable brand experiences. While technology is part of our toolkit, storytelling is at the heart of everything we do.

From traditional commercial production to immersive experiential brand experiences, we aim to inspire, engage, and captivate. Our work spans mediums and platforms, blending practical effects, cinematic techniques, and emerging tools like Unreal Engine Virtual Production to craft bold, emotionally resonant visuals.

Our 10,000 sq ft Brooklyn facility in Industry City is home to five directors, a full-time special effects team, motion control robots, a Virtual Production LED Wall, a commercial-grade kitchen, and extensive in-house prop storage. We thrive on challenges, embracing complex projects that push the limits of creativity and innovation.

Above all, people are the soul of our company. We value equity and diversity, knowing that different perspectives fuel the best creative work. We're not just a production company—we're partners in building meaningful brand stories that leave lasting impressions.

WHO YOU ARE

You're a connector, innovator, and builder who thrives on the challenge of creating opportunities and forging lasting relationships. Your passion lies in helping brands tell their stories in innovative and experiential ways, from groundbreaking commercials to immersive, direct-to-consumer brand experiences.

This is a new role at The Garage, and you'll have the exciting opportunity to shape it from the ground up. You're someone who can develop systems and processes—like setting up and maintaining a CRM—to support and scale our business development efforts. You understand the importance of structure but can also navigate ambiguity and chart your own path.

You have a strong network within the food, beverage, and CPG industries and are comfortable working directly with brands, bypassing traditional agency channels. You are a natural relationship builder who thrives in outside sales, making connections through networking, cold outreach, and face-to-face interactions.

You're also a confident presenter, skilled at leading reel viewings and pitch meetings with energy and enthusiasm, whether on-site at our studio or in a client's office. Travel will be required occasionally, and being based in the greater New York City area is essential for attending in-person meetings, events, and collaborating with our Brooklyn-based team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities with food, beverage, and CPG brands, focusing on both traditional production and experiential activations.
  • Build relationships directly with brands' marketing and creative decision-makers, educating them on how The Garage can elevate their storytelling through innovative approaches.
  • Develop and pitch customized solutions, showcasing The Garage's expertise in combining creative storytelling with cutting-edge techniques.
  • Shape and implement systems for business development, including establishing and managing a CRM platform to track leads, pipeline progress, and client relationships.
  • Lead reel viewings and pitch meetings with confidence and charisma, delivering presentations that inspire and excite potential clients.
  • Expand The Garage's presence in experiential marketing, identifying opportunities to create immersive brand experiences that engage consumers in new ways.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends in visual storytelling, content creation, and experiential marketing to keep The Garage ahead of the curve.
  • Travel occasionally to meet clients, attend industry events, and build new connections.
  • Build and maintain a consistent outreach pipeline, fostering relationships with both new and existing clients.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of business development experience, with a strong emphasis on direct-to-brand sales and a proven track record of closing significant deals in the food, beverage, or CPG sectors.
  • Established connections with brand decision-makers in target markets—this is a must for success in this role.
  • Experience in both traditional production and experiential marketing preferred, with an understanding of how to bridge the two.
  • Deep knowledge of visual storytelling and the production process, with the ability to communicate its potential to clients.
  • Proven ability to set up and manage systems like CRMs to organize and scale sales efforts.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, paired with a natural talent for building relationships.
  • Confident in leading in-person reel viewings and pitch meetings, with strong presentation skills and the ability to excite a room.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable with cold outreach, networking events, and in-person meetings.
  • Based in the New York City area, with flexibility for travel as needed.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams).

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive salary + performance-based incentives tied to new business brought in.
  • Fortune 500-level benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401k program with matching.
  • FSA and HSA accounts.
  • Paid time off.
  • A collaborative, innovative environment where your contributions directly impact the company's growth.

HOW TO APPLY

We value passion, vision, and unconventional thinking. To apply, please email your application to [email protected] with the following:

  • A concise cover letter highlighting your experience, your connections to food, beverage, or CPG brands, and your thoughts on how The Garage can push the boundaries of brand storytelling.
  • Your resume, showcasing your sales achievements, industry knowledge, and creative vision.
  • Applications that do not include a cover letter, emphasize connections, or a deep understanding of CPG, food, or beverage brands will not be considered.

The Garage is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.
