Director of Business Development

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Business Development with a strong background in construction or architecture to lead growth efforts, foster valuable relationships, and identify new market opportunities. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker with expertise in estimating and/or operations who is ready to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Business Development, you will:

• Develop and implement strategies for revenue growth and market expansion in the construction industry.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats to guide strategic decisions.
• Lead proposals, RFQs, and interview preparation for construction project pursuits.
• Build and nurture strong industry relationships and networks to identify new opportunities.
• Pursue future construction project opportunities, including public and private-sector projects.
• Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to align business development initiatives.
• Represent the organization at trade shows, milestone events, and industry gatherings.
• Maintain organized communication with clients, designers, and internal teams to ensure alignment.

Qualifications

The ideal Director of Business Development candidate will possess:

• 10 years in business development, construction, or related fields.
• A deep understanding of construction or architectural practices.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, including public speaking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, CRM software (preferred), and Adobe InDesign (a plus).
• Experience in estimating or project management within construction is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
