Director of Business Development

We're seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to drive our growth. This role focuses on achieving ambitious revenue targets across multiple service lines.

As the Director of Business Development, you'll collaborate with internal Business Leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive growth plan aligned with The Transtec Group's strategic goals, adapting quarterly/annually to market changes. You'll represent our services—Engineering, Tracks, Research, and Testing—and identify new opportunities.

Your intense discipline and accountability will build strong relationships with industry leaders and potential clients. You'll represent The Transtec Group at industry events, highlighting our proven track record and innovative solutions, reinforcing our reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of a public/private sector growth strategy, ensuring alignment with our strategic and regional plans.
  • Work with Business Leaders to set revenue and opportunity goals, identify and capture new client firms.
  • Nurture new client relationships and drive project opportunity pursuits across specific regions within the Lower 48 states, in alignment with the BD Growth Plan.
  • Develop and execute tailored client relationship strategies and project capture plans.
  • Partner with internal project managers and administrative staff to share market intelligence.
  • Participate in cadence of scheduled marketplace growth and operational meetings and planning sessions.
  • Utilize HubSpot for lead generation, prospecting, and CRM to document relationships and pursuit activities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop marketing materials, presentations, website enhancements, marketing campaigns, trade show booth content, and other initiatives to reach sales and business development goals.
  • Represent The Transtec Group in trade organizations and industry events that support the BD growth plan.
  • Secure and monitor client feedback and participate in client meetings to understand success factors and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 8+ years experience in developing, managing, and executing successful sales or business development programs and meeting sales quota.
  • Experience working in the CIVIL ENGINEERING FIELD IS A PLUS!
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's auto insurability requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of public and private sector markets and the engineering firms serving these markets.
  • Reputation for maintaining high ethical standards and reliability.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and various lead generation and tracking systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Work Environment

  • Work includes regional offices, client offices, and other off-site locations.
  • Occasional visits to client sites and projects may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and construction site noise levels.
