About The Position Overview Aitech is a leading provider of cutting-edge digital electronics solutions tailored for the defense and aerospace markets for use in air, ground, and sea applications. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Mil-aero Business Development to spearhead our growth initiatives, drive strategic partnerships, and expand our market presence in aerospace and defense in US. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the defense and aerospace sectors, coupled with a proven track record in business development and strategic sales, targeting the US defense Mil-Aero Primes, Tiers 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. The Director, Mil-Aero Business Development will be responsible for building Aitech's America's Mil-Aero business for Air, Ground, and Sea DoD segments in US and Canada. The Director, Mil-Aero Business Development will promote Aitech's systems, boards, integration services and capabilities to DoD, Primes, Tiers 1 and 2, users, and prospects to identify, create and/or shape opportunities to grow our North American Mil-Aero business. The Director, Mil-Aero Business Development will:
- Provide feedback to US and Global Management on product requirements, feature needs and be the voice of the customer to help define specs with Product Line Managers for future products.
- Be responsible for tracking Mil-Aero new platform and modernization programs, working closely with peers, local and global management team, and PLMs to grow US and Canadian business in mil-aero.
- Work with Proposals Manager in development of RFI / RFP technical and pricing responses for all mil-aero opportunities.
- Support the Insides Sales Manager to respond to mil-aero recurring or COTS business that require on NRE effort.
- Manage a team of Business Development, FAE, and Proposals / Capture Teams to develop and grow the North American mil-aero business.
- Utilize skills to translate customer challenges, needs, gaps to relevant solutions from Aitech and be able to converse, present at business and technical level to promote that solution.
Additional duties may include, but not limited to the following:
- Builds market position
- Identifies trendsetter ideas
- Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential Integrators, resellers, agents, and end-customers.
- Examines risks and potentials for the business opportunities.
- Estimates Customers / prospects needs and goals.
- Defines and publishes KPIs to track opportunities.
- Builds and manages Dashboard to promote opportunities to Management
- Identifies and participates in marketing opportunities
- Works with VP, Global Marketing on defining a yearly calendar of Mil-Aero Marketing events
- Owns and is 100% accountable for all the Mil-Aero business number for North America.
- The position can be in Chatsworth, or near Washington DC, Huntsville, Florida, or other locations where there is strength and presence of mil-aero Primes or DoD contacts.
Requirements Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
- 10+ years selling and business development in aerospace, defense industries
- Deep understanding of mil-aero market
- Proven history of identifying and closing $10M+ opportunities in Defense industry
- A BS degree in a related engineering field
- Ability to prepare PPT, author technical responses, present to customers, present at tradeshows and to C-level executives.
- Current or recent TS or Secret clearance that can be reactivated
- Ability to travel 25% to 30% of the time on short notice
- Current experience and contacts within MDA, US Army, US Air Force, Boeing, Northrop, L3Harris, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, General Atomics, and/or others
- Excellent communication skills to interact with senior government officials, executives at Primes and to the Board at Aitech.

- Working knowledge of Salesforce
- Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among Engineering, Operations and Program Management
- Experience selling end-use equipment to customers
- Effective written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management procedures
- Familiarity with FARs and DFARs
- Comfortable with dealing with export control and ITAR data.
Salary Range: 165K-235K DOE *Must be a U.S. citizen and be authorized to work in the United States.
