Position Overview:
The Director of Capital Markets will oversee and manage the firm's capital market strategies, with a focus on optimizing warehouse line usage, cultivating relationships with institutional investors, and ensuring efficient execution of loan sales. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the NON-QM mortgage space, capital markets strategies, and secondary market operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Line Management:
- Optimize the usage, capacity, and efficiency of warehouse lines to support the firm's origination volume and growth objectives.
- Monitor warehouse facility compliance, manage advance rates, and ensure seamless funding processes.
- Negotiate terms, renewals, and expansions of warehouse facilities with lenders.
Investor Business Development:
- Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with institutional investors, including banks, hedge funds, private equity firms, and REITs.
- Develop a robust investor network to facilitate whole loan sales, securitizations, and structured finance opportunities.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, events, and investor meetings.
Loan Sale Execution:
- Lead the execution of whole loan sales, ensuring optimal pricing and efficient transaction processes.
- Manage relationships with rating agencies, due diligence providers, and other third-party service providers to facilitate smooth loan sale operations.
- Analyze market conditions and trends to recommend pricing strategies and identify opportunities for portfolio sales or securitizations.
Capital Markets Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategies to manage liquidity, capital deployment, and risk across the firm's lending operations.
- Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to guide product development and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the executive team on long-term financial planning and growth initiatives.
Regulatory and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines, including those related to non-QM lending and secondary market operations.
- Mitigate risks associated with capital markets transactions through effective due diligence and risk management practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in capital markets, mortgage banking, or private lending, with a focus on NON-QM or residential mortgages.
- Proven expertise in managing warehouse lines, investor relations, and loan sale execution.
- Strong understanding of the NON-QM mortgage market, securitization processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, pricing analysis, and capital market trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established network of institutional investors and industry contacts.
- Experience with loan pricing engines, data analytics tools, and secondary market platforms.
- Familiarity with securitization structures and rating agency processes.
