We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive professional to join us as our Director of Carrier Relations. As a critical team leader, you will develop and manage strong relationships with our carrier partners as well as manage a team of 10+ carrier relationship professionals. This position is based in our Oak Brook, IL office and is hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Base compensation range: $120,000 - $160,000 plus target bonus potential starting at 30%
Here's What You Can Expect On a Typical Day
Develop and enhance strategic partnerships by building trust with our carriers' key decision makers to improve claims payments.Lead and manage a team of 10+ professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.Act as a liaison between the carrier and ConData, serving as an internal client advocate, capable and empowered to mobilize the right resources to ensure partnership alignment.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the entire ConData product suite and coordinate communication among the various business partners externally and departments internally.Develop and implement strategies to optimize customer relationships and enhance service quality. Identify bottlenecks in the audit/claims processes and propose fixes/updates.Proactively ensure carrier satisfaction through periodic conference calls and carrier visits.Utilize technology and systems to streamline processes and maximize operational efficiency.Determine the components of overcharge audits and prepare comprehensive project plan and scope of all required activities.Communicate status and next steps to the carrier and our customers.Prepare and present reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior management.Technical Skills
Proficient in MS Excel skills such as creating pivot tables, v-lookups when analyzing data and being able to tie that analysis back to a business case or results.Proficient in utilizing CRM tools to manage customer data, track closing opportunities, and generate reports.Knowledge of CRM such as Zoho or Salesforce is helpful to create meaningful dashboards, insights and interpret data.Proficient with MS PowerPoint skills – creating presentations cohesively, depending on the project or audience.TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Required Qualifications
8+ years of directly related experience in transportation industry carrier relations.5+ years proven experience in team management and leadership. Experience onboarding new team members, providing training goals, and making compensation recommendations.Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision but comfortable raising their hand for assistance when needed.Strong prioritization and time management skills.Strategic thinker with strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Familiarity with technology and systems used in logistics and transportation and rate analysis.In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, together with an understanding of carrier hierarchy of personnel and decision makers within the carriers.Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and work cross-functionally with other carrier teams, as well as with internal departments and external stakeholders.Why Join ConData?
