Position Summary Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Childcare Services is responsible for the development and operational leadership of Early Learning and School Age Childcare programs for YMCA Southcoast. This position will ensure that YMCA Southcoast is providing age-appropriate and developmentally aligned multi-cultural program activities. The role also manages a direct staff and group of volunteers focused on educational programing. The Director will develop curriculum and activity programming to meet the needs of the families and children enrolled. The role is responsible for Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) compliance in relation to licensing procedures. It also owns ensuring that the YMCA follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) regulations and any Department of Education (DOE-CACFP) mandates. This position is expected to help identify and implement research-based assessment tools that follow Common Core MA standards. Furthermore, the Director of Childcare will focus on ADA and EEC requirements, so that reasonable accommodations are provided to children with disabilities, to allow maximum participation opportunities. An ideal candidate would be adept at building strength-based relationships with families, specifically supporting them in identifying and accessing community services. The Director will assist the YMCA to recruit and engage new members, serving as a conduit between members and the YMCA mission. Some weekly travel to our 6 Branch locations may be expected. Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of all EEC, NAEYC and DOE regulations
- Bachelors of advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field of study approved by EEC 606 CMR 7.09
- EEC Director II Educator qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory EEC classroom experience and 2 years EEC Director experience
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrate poise professionalism with staff, families, participants and other professionals
- Bilingual Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years training and coaching a team
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
