Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Director to oversee and manage all phases of commercial construction projects. The Construction Director will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to successfully guide project teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:- Oversee all phases of commercial construction projects, from pre-construction to closeout.
- Develop and implement project strategies, schedules, and budgets to achieve project goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project managers, site teams, and subcontractors.
Planning and Execution:- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients to define project requirements.
- Review and approve project plans, schedules, budgets, and contracts.
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with project needs and timelines.
- Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize delays and cost overruns.
Team Management:- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams to ensure high performance and morale.
- Foster collaboration and communication among stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Financial Oversight:- Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance.
- Approve project expenditures and authorize necessary changes.
- Prepare and present financial and progress reports to senior leadership.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Address and resolve project-related issues promptly and professionally.
Quality Assurance:- Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and enforce quality control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in commercial construction, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project) and financial management software.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
