Job Description - Director of Development, Foundation Relations (2403692)
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Four (4) years of full-time experience in higher education fundraising/non-profit management, to include three (3) years in corporate and/or foundation relations, with a demonstrated track record of closing significant gifts/grants. Experience with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards governing foundation grant-making. Ability to structure innovative public-private partnership agreements and write grants.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Fundraising campaign experience. Contact management software experience.Brief Description of Duties:The Director of Development for Foundation Relations at Stony Brook University will identify/cultivate, solicit and steward significant foundation donors on a local and national level to advance the University's mission through gifts, grants, and other forms of support. Collaborates with the Principal Gifts team on principal level foundation proposals, cultivations, solicitations and stewardships. The selected candidate should possess familiarity and comfort with academic culture and/or non-profit environment as well as have excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills and analytical skills.
Special Notes:The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
