The Grand Oshkosh, Inc., operates the historic Grand Opera House, built in 1883 and the oldest continuously operating theatre in the State of Wisconsin. The Grand was first renovated and re-opened as a performing arts center in 1986, and recently announced a $10 million capital project, partnering with the owners of the facility, the City of Oshkosh. The Grand hosts national performing artists, regional artists, community and high school productions, meetings and weddings, and is a vibrant centerpiece of Downtown Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Position Purpose:

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Development Director develops and leads strategies for general fundraising and donor acquisition, cultivation and stewardship, including prospect research, soliciting individual and corporate major gifts, sponsorships, and planned giving and endowment campaigns. An ability to work well on a small team and in collaboration with the Board of Directors and volunteers is necessary for successful fund development efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Implement and manage major giving, annual fund, naming and sponsorship opportunities, membership, cultivation and stewardship events, and others as needed

· Build new and bolster existing relationships with foundation and corporate partners, government agencies, donors at various levels, and current and prospective Board members

· Articulate and lead a clear annual development plan and incorporate short and long-term goals, benchmarks and metrics that reflect growth, specific targets for various areas of giving, and other necessary objectives in alignment with The Grand's mission

· Examine and improve systems to aid development efforts, including ongoing fundraising, prospect research, gift acknowledgments, etc.

· Create the conditions for the President/CEO and Board members to successfully engage potential donors

· Maintain an active schedule of donor contacts to deepen relationships with The Grand and active/prospective donors to encourage ongoing gifts, increased gifts, and to secure new gifts

· Actively solicit individuals and businesses for program sponsorships, naming opportunities, and other development efforts

· Track donor engagement and retention rates and other metrics to measure alignment with fundraising strategies and achieve annual and multi-year development goals

· Oversee the creation of all levels of donor materials for various fundraising and development efforts

· Lead the planning and execution of a minimum of one major fundraising event, leading and collaborating with a team of staff and committee members, and engaging the Board in the success of those events

· Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years progressive experience in a development capacity preferred. Experience in non-profit, academic and/or cultural sector preferred

· Confident and self-motivated fundraiser with proven experience and successful track record of fund development, donor development and philanthropy in a non-profit development sector; knowledge of theater or performing arts is a plus

· Familiarity with capital campaign processes and experience with planning and executing large-scale donor events

· Possess an appreciation o the arts and passion for advancing the mission of The Grand Oshkosh

· Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software. Knowledge of the AudienceView fundraising platform is a plus.

· Integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in fundraising practices

· Ability to work independently and within a team to drive ambitious timelines, establish deadlines, and meet them

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

· Ability to work a flexible schedule
