Director of Development Regina Health CenterSisters of Charity Health SystemPosition Summary:The Director of Development provides leadership and management of the direction, planning, and execution of fundraising and development-related activities for Regina Health Center (RHC) ministry. The Director of Development is responsible for moving top fundraising prospects through the major gift process of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.Reports to: Sr. Vice President of Fund Development and Regina Health Center Executive DirectorWork Location: On-siteEssential Duties:
  • Play a leadership role in establishing ambitious achievable goals for all philanthropic revenue for RHC.
  • Identify prospective foundations and collaborate with the Director of Grants Management to write and submit funding proposals. Manage and coordinate the submission of grant proposals and reports according to established timeframes.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and SCHS Vice President of Fund Development, develop an overall plan and direction for major donor activities with an associated work plan detailing short and long-term goals, specific action steps and deliverables, and processes for monitoring and evaluating the success of major donor and planned giving programs.
  • Bring a creatively entrepreneurial approach to the assignment of planning, developing and executing strategies for obtaining private donations; identifying, cultivating and soliciting major and planned gift individual prospects. Direct and/or conduct cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities for select prospects.
  • Develop ongoing communications plan for major gift and planned gift donors. Monitor all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations.
  • In collaboration with the Health System Development Services team, utilize the Raiser's Edge database as an effective and efficient prospect/moves management system, recording and documenting meaningful interactions with RHC donors and prospective donors.
  • In collaboration with the Health System Director of Annual Giving and Communications, ensure that effective communication and collaboration exists with successful execution of annual giving efforts, as well as consistent and inspiring message across all communication vehicles including newsletter, website, and other media/platforms.
  • In collaboration with the Health System Special Events Manager, ensure successful execution of signature event and other donor outreach engagements to communicate Regina Health Center's mission and inspire donors, prospective donors and friend to support the ministry through philanthropy.
  • In collaboration with the Health System Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, assist with the submission of grant proposal in support of Regina Health Center, including providing the necessary information for grant narrative and stewardship reports.
  • Maintain strong relationships with caregivers, volunteers, donors, administrators, representatives and supporters of RHC and all Sisters of Charity Health System sponsored ministries.
  • Manage and successful implement donor recognition and stewardship program, including the Planned Giving Regina Society.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a professional fundraising role, including cultivating and soliciting individual major donors and working with volunteer leaders
  • Demonstrated competence in providing management oversight of multiple concurrent fundraising projects, ensuring deadlines are met and revenue goals are achieved

  • Team player with a polished & collegial demeanor, can-do attitude and a commitment to the mission and values of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine
  • Self-starter with the ability to leverage the skills and contributions of others for maximum effectiveness and also to function independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or comparable fundraising database preferred but not required
