Director of Digital Marketing & eCommerce Job Summary: Work with Wilco's business units to extend strategies and customer experiences into digital spaces to achieve our mission, grow sales, and increase store and website traffic through management of team members, feature development, digital marketing, fulfillment processes, and website administration that ensures internal and external customers have a positive online experience. Supervises: Sr. eCom Administrator, Online Content Specialist, Digital Marketer & external vendor-partners within the eCommerce and Digital Marketing space Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop the eCom and digital marketing team responsible for Wilco's digital presence and channels.
  • Manages online customer retention and acquisition strategies to increase website and store traffic, the user experience and ultimately conversion rates and sales for Wilco store and online properties that currently include; www.farmstore.com | www.wilco.coop (including the Wilco Energy nested site) | www.chickville.com | www.wilfullwear.com |
  • Provides the strategic direction for the overall user experience of internal admin and fulfillment teams, and customers across mobile, tablet and desktop computer devices; with a mobile-first focus.
  • Collaborate and lead the implementation of site content and strategies; including site taxonomy and navigation, existing and new product content, product reviews, landing pages, banners, blogs and other information that enhances the customer experience.
  • Manages the current annual plan, and a three-year technical roadmap, and all related systems and architecture to implement best practices and new and emerging technologies to drive profitable growth.
  • Responsible for the development pipeline to prioritize the needs of stakeholders and then oversees the vendor relationships and development sprints to meet, or preferably overdeliver, on milestones and budgets.
  • Manages site analytics and customer insights to improve and personalize the customer experience; including the use and integration of a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Email/SMS Systems (currently Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Develops and drives data-driven, digital marketing strategies and tactics to increase qualified site and store traffic through tools such as; SEM, SEO, Social Media Advertising, Influencers, Email & SMS Marketing, In-Store Campaigns, etc...
  • Develop and communicate online performance, KPIs, and future sales and marketing plans regularly in easy-to-read reports/updates understood by both digitally savvy and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner and collaborate regularly with Customer Care, IT, Merchandising, Marketing, Training, and Store Operation teams to maintain and improve upon systems and processes that support the online and e-commerce customer experience.
  • Responsible for partnering with teams and resources to assure regulatory, legal and accounting compliance; including: Proper tax rules, ADA compliance, PCI compliance, Content labeling requirements, Privacy and practices relating to the use of personal data for marketing.
  • Manage the development and upgrade cycle of internal software programs built within the eCom and Digital Marketing ecosystem to support processes and efficiencies within the business.
  • Responsible for the eCom and Digital team's site response and day-to-day functions which may include assisting with backup coverage.
  • Evolves processes and builds a positive team environment focused on efficiency and constant improvement; including appropriate integration of AI tools and supporting systems.
  • Support the Marketing & eCommerce team relative to all above functions related to the management of the e-commerce experience and custom software solutions.

  • Proven experience evaluating and selecting new platforms, third-party solutions and overall development direction
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with demonstrated customer service resolution skills.

  • Proficient with MS Office and understanding of web content and online reading.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills with an understanding of agile project management.
  • Ability to manage and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of the farm store and agriculture industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team, including external vendors and agencies.
Experience/Education
  • 6 years' experience as an integral role within a growing Digital eCommerce team.
  • 3 years experience leading, managing and developing a team.
  • 4-year degree in Marketing, Technology, or related field preferred, or extensive work experience equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • No specific needs.
Working Conditions
  • Office indoor environment with long periods at a desk.
  • Shared coverage during evenings and weekends for urgent eCom response needs.
  • Work is conducted primarily in an office environment and occasionally at store locations.
  • Work location is at Wilco's corporate office or eligible remote home office within commuting distance of Mt. Angel, OR.
