The Department of Administrative Services seeks a Director of Facilities for the Boston campus who will oversee the development and execution of capital planning initiatives, in line with strategic space plans, with experience in construction and facilities management. The Director of Facilities works collaboratively with University leadership, state agencies, state/local authorities, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the capital projects meet the goals, budget, schedule, and quality standards of the University. The Director oversees all facilities-related activities, ensuring that physical plant operations, including all buildings, grounds and utilities are in appropriate working order to provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff. The Director of Facilities will provide a proactive approach to problem-solving, demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and has the ability to oversee multiple projects. •Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of campus capital planning initiatives, space planning, facilities support and maintenance in collaboration with senior administration. •Proven track record of managing large scale projects and budgets effectively. •Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. •Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Facilities department ensuring timely completion of tasks and the assignment of work-order requests across three campuses and university-owned buildings. •Manage the engineering, maintenance, repair and renovation of buildings, grounds and equipment to maintain optimal condition and functionality. •Lead and mentor Facilities department staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and completing quality work. •Prepare and manage annual facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. •Ensure all university facilities meet and comply with all safety and environmental standards, permit, license, and code compliance. •When needed, perform a variety of general repairs, installations and maintenance on building equipment. •Contributes to sustaining and enhancing an inclusive working and learning environment. Required: •Minimum of a Bachelor's degree •Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in capital planning, space utilization, property management, construction, and facilities management. •Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in facilities management or related field •Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. •Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior administrators, faculty, staff, and external partners; ability to influence through credibility, integrity, and professionalism. •Must have a valid driver's license •Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices •Knowledge of local and state building codes, ordinances and regulations •Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines •Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment Preferred: •Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, CPC) •Experience in complex construction project management in higher education Apply Please attach a cover letter and a curriculum vitae/resume.
