Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and forward-thinking Director to oversee the long-term planning and management of our organization's physical spaces and infrastructure. This role will be critical in driving the strategic growth of our facilities, optimizing space utilization, and ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable and sustainable to meet the needs of the organization. This position will focus on capital planning, strategic facility growth, space management, and the development of policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Facility Planning:

  • Lead and develop a comprehensive facility strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives, growth projections, and evolving space requirements.
  • Analyze current space usage and anticipate future needs, considering expansion, downsizing, or reconfiguration.
  • Oversee the strategic development and management of multi-site facilities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to determine facility-related goals and provide recommendations to support business objectives.

Capital Planning and Budgeting:

  • Manage the capital planning process for infrastructure improvements, expansions, and renovations.
  • Develop, monitor, and control budgets for long-term facilities projects and operations.
  • Prepare detailed capital expenditure proposals for the improvement, renovation, or expansion of facilities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and maximize return on investments in facilities.

Infrastructure Development and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the integrity, reliability, and sustainability of all infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building management systems.
  • Develop long-term infrastructure maintenance and improvement plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, building codes, and regulations to maintain compliance and ensure the best practices are followed.

Space Optimization and Utilization:

  • Develop strategies to maximize space utilization, optimize layout and ensure the facility supports the company's functional requirements.
  • Lead efforts to create flexible workspaces and modern office environments that support the organization's culture and growth.
  • Oversee space planning and office moves, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Growth and Expansion:

  • Support the organization's growth by managing the identification, evaluation, and integration of new facilities or properties.
  • Lead the facility acquisition, lease negotiations, or construction of new buildings.
  • Ensure that new locations or expansions are seamlessly integrated with existing facilities.

Vendor Management and Contract Negotiations:

  • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers for facility-related services, ensuring that they meet performance expectations.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts for facility services, supplies, and construction projects.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of services from third-party vendors.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements related to facilities.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies for employees, tenants, and visitors.
  • Promote sustainable building practices and green initiatives to support environmental goals.

Reporting and Performance Metrics:

  • Develop and present regular reports on the status of facilities, capital projects, and overall facility management performance.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for facilities operations, ensuring continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in facilities management, strategic planning, and infrastructure management, with a focus on large-scale or multi-site operations.
  • Strong understanding of capital planning, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Experience in space planning, real estate, and facility growth strategies.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to oversee complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Knowledge of building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with diverse teams and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
