Full Job Description

MAJOR OBJECTIVES: Serves as the chief budgetary officer. Assists with developing program and organizational budgets. Serves as a decision maker for finance related items. Handles the day-to-day transactions, as well as month-end and year-end transactions needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary staff member for finance and budget related items
  • Assist CEO with developing annual budgets and modifications throughout the year
  • Assist CEO with employee benefits and maintaining current employee records
  • Assist CEO with budget reports to funding sources
  • Prepare quarterly 9130 ETA related to federal grant funding with CEO approval
  • Train staff on finance related items such as mileage reports, expense reports, and travel reports
  • Review expenses and determine eligibility related to travel and expense reports
  • Review timesheets, mileage, and expense reports
  • Perform essential finance duties including reconciling bank statements, recording payroll transactions, maintaining financial records, and working with auditors
  • Develop organization policy for finance related items mainly to expense reimbursement, travel policy, and mileage policy
  • And other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Minimum of 5 years in a finance position. Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software is required. Good communication skills are required. Broad knowledge of accounting principles. Experience in policy development is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer related programs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certified Housing Counselor credential is preferred. Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
